Education and the Rights of the Child

The United Nations Economic and Social Council has requested Franciscans International to submit a written statement for the High Level Segment (HLS) on ‘Education and the Rights of the Child’. The event will take place in Geneva in July 2011. Ministers and Councillors will exchange views on issues of strategic importance and on emerging trends in the sector. FI believes that ensuring compulsory education, at least at the primary level education, for all children, reduces poverty and in turn helps to address a series of other human rights issues.
